Sectioning: Create a rectangle in the crown, leaving out the fringe and sides. Create a small braid in both side sections.

Step One: Outline sections with Formula One for a Shadow Root effect.

Step Two: In the back section apply Formula Two from roots to ends.

Step Three: Release the crown section and apply Formula Three from roots to ends.

Step Four: Release braids and apply Formula One to roots and mids melting into Formula Three at the ends.

Step Five: Process at room temperature for 25 minutes. Rinse with cool water and apply CHI Color Lock Treatment for 5 minutes. Rinse.

Sectioning: Create a section from ear to ear.

Step One: Starting in the temple area apply Formula One to the roots.

Step Two: On the remaining hair melt down the section with Formula Three, Formula Two and finally Formula Four at the ends.

Artist Tip: Use your fingers or a blur brush to melt all four formulas together.

Step Three: Continue melting technique until all hair is complete.

Artist Tip: Bring the lighter shades higher so you can create lightness around the face.

Step Four: Process at room temperature for 25 minutes. Rinse with cool water and apply CHI Color Lock Treatment for 5 minutes. Rinse.

Step One: Prior to application mist the hair with CHI Bond and Seal.

Step Two: Using the tail end of a color brush create small subsections.

Step Three: Starting at the mid-shaft, apply CHI Bleach and shine using your brush or fingers. Continue until all hair is complete.

Step Four: Process at room temperature for up to 50 minutes. Rinse and shampoo with CHI Infra Shampoo.

Step Five:Apply CHI Chroma Paint Oh So Fuchsia to towel dried hair for 25 minutes. Rinse, Color Lock.

Prep: Mist the hair with CHI Bond and Seal.

Sectioning: Create a horseshoe section at the crown and then a smaller section right under the parietal ridge.

Step Two: In the nape section apply Formula Two from mids to ends melting into Formula One at the roots.

Step Three: Release the parietal ridge and fringe sections and apply Formula One at the root area.

Step Four: Apply Formula Three to the mids and ends of the parietal ridge and fringe sections, melting in with Formula One at the roots.

Step Five: Release the crown section. Apply Formula One at the root area and then apply Formula Two to the mids and ends melting together with Formula One at the roots.

Step Six: Process at room temperature for 25 minutes. Rinse with cool water and apply CHI Color Lock Treatment for 5 minutes. Rinse.

Sectioning: Create a halo section in the crown area.

Step One: Prep the hair with CHI Bond and Seal.

Step Two: Starting in the back apply Formula Two from roots to ends.

Step Three: Apply Formula Two at the root area and melt in Formula One from mids to ends on both side sections.

Step Four: In the fringe section apply Formula One from roots to ends. Cover with a foil to protect color.

Step Five: Release the crown section. Taking horizontal subsections, apply Formula Two at the root area.

Step Six: Once Formula Two is applied at the root apply Formula Four and Five down each horizontal subsection until entire crown sections is complete.

Artist Tip: Blend in an upward motion to avoid darker colors bleeding into lighter colors.

Step Seven: Process at room temperature for 25 minutes. Rinse with cool water and apply CHI Color Lock Treatment for 5 minutes. Rinse and style as desired.

Step One: Starting in the temple area apply formula one in a diagonal back section and protect with foil. Repeat in the next subsection using formula two. Continue alternating through section.

Step Two: In the middle section apply Formula Three from roots to ends using a foil to protect the hair from the previous section.

Step Three: Release final section and apply Formula Four from roots to ends.

Step Four: Process at room temperature for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly, shampoo using CHI Infra Shampoo, rinse, and apply CHI Color Lock Treatment for 5 minutes and rinse.

Sectioning: Create twists throughout the head leaving out the ends of the hair.

Step One: With your hands isolate one section and sponge in formula one using a sponge.

Step Two: Continue until entire head is complete. Apply as much or as little color as desired.

Step Three: Process at room temperature for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly, shampoo using CHI Infra Shampoo, rinse, and apply CHI Color Lock Treatment for 5 minutes and rinse.

Step One: Starting in the nape weave sections, using your CHI Dryer start at the ends slowly move the dryer towards the scalp, creating a back comb effect. Apply formula one to the new growth and feather down. Alternate formulas one and two up to occipital bone.

Step Two: Apply either formula one or two with same technique and then melt formula three from mid-shaft to ends up to parietal ridge.

Step Three: In the crown and apex continue technique from step one until entire head is complete.

Step Four: Process at room temperature for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly, shampoo using CHI Infra Shampoo, rinse, and apply CHI Color Lock Treatment for 5 minutes and rinse.

Sectioning: Create a deep zig-zag parting in the crown and secure with a clip.

Step One: Start by applying Formula One to the root area of the lower section then taking the color down to begin a color melting technique.

Step Two: Apply Formula Two to the lower half of the hair strand making sure to melt Formula One and Two together. Continue until the entire lower section is complete.

Artist Tip- Place hair in foil to help the process and to protect the color from drying out.

Step Three: Release the top section and apply Formula Three from roots to ends.

Step Four: Process at room temperature for 30 minutes. Rinse hair thoroughly, shampoo with CHI Infra Shampoo, rinse and apply CHI Color Lock Treatment for 5 minutes and rinse.

Sectioning: Create 6 triangle sections- one in the front fringe area, one on each side or fringe section, triangle crown section and two on either side, leaving out nape area.

Step One: Starting in the nape using a razor cut to desired length to create your guide line for the cut.

Step Two: Taking diagonal forward subsections, over direct back and razor cut to guide. Repeat on both back triangle sections.

Step Three: Release triangle crown section, bring out to a 45 degree angle and cut to guide over directing towards the back of the head.

Step Four: Release your side section, over direct back at a 45 degree angle and cut to guide to maintain length in the front and movement throughout. Repeat on opposite side.

Step Five: Release the final top section. Direct hair straight up and then back towards the crown and razor cut.

Step Six: Comb hair forward and razor cut face framing layers.

Step Seven: To create added texture, take small sections with firm tension and gently run your razor on top of the section to remove bulk and add texture.

Step Two: Section hair into four sections.

Step Three: Start in the nape area taking small sections.

Step Four: Apply the CHI Enviro Smoothing Treatment Virgin and Resistant Hair 1/8th of an inch from the scalp using a tint brush. Pull through to the ends.

Step Five: Use a large tooth comb to help distribute the product evenly after application.

Step Six: Apply same technique on the entire head. Use your professional judgement, and follow the manufacturer’s suggested timing.

Step Seven: Using a round or paddle brush, dry the hair. Smaller sections produce a more desirable outcome.

Step Eight: Section hair into four large sections.

Step Nine: Starting in the nape area, take small sections using the CHI Lava 1” Hairstyling Iron. Settings are best between 180 – 220 degrees Celsius.

Artist Tip: Lower temperatures work best. Just take smaller sections for best results.

Step Ten: To maintain your client’s new look, have them use the CHI Enviro American Smoothing Home Care Kit. Do not shampoo prior to 24 hours.

Take a look at her complete step-by-step using the CHI BOND + Lightener System, a line infused with hemp and aloe vera oils that lift up to 9+ levels without sacrificing its integrity, shine or condition.

Formula One: CHI Shine Shades 5N + CHI Shine Shades Clear + 10 CHI Color Generator (Mixing Ratio 1:1:1)

Formula Two: CHI Bleach & Shine + 10 Volume CHI Color Generator (Mixing Ratio 1:1.5)

Step One: Apply CHI Bond & Seal. Brush it into the hair for even distribution.

Step Two: Apply Formula One to the roots up to 1–2 inches. Then comb through to the mid-shaft following the natural hairline.

Artist Tip: Leave the fringe are out.

Step Three: Utilizing a smaller brush in the fringe area, make sure to over direct the hair, and apply in the mid-shaft area first. Use your fingers to feather upward to the root area as you buffer in the product.

Artist Tip: In the mid- shaft area, make sure to push in the product with your brush to maximize the lift. Working towards the ends, softly remove excess product on the porous ends.

Artist Tip: Take triangular subsections, and start in the mid-shaft area; this gives you more control.

Step Four: Utilizing a color board, push the product into the hair. Be careful not to over saturate the already porous ends.  Apply to the rest of the hair using angled subsections moving down the hair shaft as you go toward the back of the head. Make sure you are focusing on the outer surface of the hair sections.

Step Five: Utilizing a sponge buffer in the shine shades and the Bleach and shine together. This gives a beautiful blended look.

Step Six: After desired level of lift, rinse well. Use CHI Ionic Color Illuminate Platinum Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner. Style as desired.
