Formula 1:
1oz Bleach & Shine + 1oz 10 Volume Developer + 2 pumps Bond Rebuilder
Formula 2:
1oz Bleach & Shine + 1oz 20 Volume Developer + 2 pumps Bond Rebuilder
Formula 3:
CHI Ionic Permanent 2oz 7C + 4g Orange Additive + 2oz 20 Volume Developer
Formula 4:
1oz CHI Chroma Paint Mango Tango + 1oz Pink Lightening + 1oz Pearl Glam
Formula 5:
1oz CHI ColorMaster Factory Blorange LG + 1oz Blonde Rose + 1oz Coral Rose + 2 shots Red Additive + 3oz 5 Volume Developer
Color Technique (Prep and Sectioning)
CREATE 5 SECTIONS:
A triangle fringe, a triangular crown section with a V-parting below it (parietal to occipital), and triangular sections behind each parietal ridge extending to the apex.
STEP 1:
Starting in the back V-section, take ¼-inch diagonal back slices. Backcomb from the center and apply Formula 1. Repeat on both sides of the V.
STEP 2:
Continue up the section, alternating between weaving and slicing along the V-parting. Mist with Royal Treatment Bond & Seal as you work.
STEP 3:
Move to the crown triangle. Take ½-inch horizontal subsections. Backcomb, weave, and apply Formula 2.
Color Design
STEP 4:
For the fringe, take 3 back-to-back 1/8-inch horizontal slices.
STEP 5:
After the initial slices, switch to medium weaves with larger subsections. Backcomb every section.
STEP 6:
Apply Formula 3 to the roots outside your foiled sections.
STEP 7:
Apply Formula 4 to the mids & ends of the remaining hair on the sides (hair not in foils), melting it into the root color.
STEP 8:
Apply Formula 3 to all hair remaining between foils.
PROCESS:
30 minutes.
FINISH:
Rince with lukewarm water (3-5 minutes).
TONE:
Rough dry the hair. Apply Formula 5 to the blonde sections.
PROCESS:
20 minutes.
FINISH:
Rinse and shampoo with Royal Treatment Color Gloss Protecting Shampoo and Conditioner.
THE HAIRCUT
STEP 1:
Isolate the fringe into a triangle. Part from apex ear-to-ear and clip.
STEP 2:
Tilt head forward. Cut the back perimeter to the desired length at 0 elevation.
STEP 3:
Create a triangle at the crown. Elevate to 180 degrees, twist, and slide cut upwards to establish a guide.
STEP 4:
Take a V-section below the guide, elevate to 180 degrees, and slide cut at an upward angle.
STEP 5:
Part into 3 vertical sections. Elevate to 90 degrees and cut diagonally upward to blend.
STEP 6:
Take a V-section from apex to parietal on both sides and merge.
STEP 7:
Twist this section with the crown guide, elevate to 180 degrees, and cut at an upward angle.
STEP 8:
Comb fringe down. Twist twice and cut straight across at 0 elevation. Clean up disconnected pieces.
STEP 9:
Face framing: Section from apex to temple. Slide cut downwards to blend with the fringe.
STEP 10:
Blend the ear-to-apex section by elevating to 180 degrees and point cutting.
STEP 11:
Elevate the fringe to 180 degrees, overdirect back, twist once, and straight cut.
